There is a Chinese saying: ‘The time to start digging a well is before you feel thirsty. And the time to start attending to your health is before you fall ill.’
Think of your body and mind as a working machine or as your much loved sports car.
It requires the right kind of fuel and of course, it would be silly and wasteful to ever overfill it!! A good run regularly keeps it in shape and a thorough clean inside and out acts like a detox. Take pride in it and don’t forget the MOT to ensure it continues to serve you well!
Sometimes our feelings get in the way. Over-eating, binge drinking and lack of exercise are often associated with emotions like anger, fear, grief, sadness and isolation. Not to mention, labels which can stick from our childhood, ‘slow’, ‘not good enough’, ‘can’t spell’ and others like ‘OCD’, ‘depressed’ and ‘anxious’ which can cause deep routed pain for years.
Heal your Feelings and Be Happy - when you care for yourself, you have no idea how many people that helps. You then give from a cup that is full, instead of a cup that is empty. You give from the fullness of who you are - not out of resentment or the need for love.
